Volunteer Opportunities
At CLO
CLO’s mission is to help adults and children with severe developmental disabilities achieve personally satisfying and fulfilling lifestyles.
CLO provides a variety of services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in homes scattered throughout the community in Overland Park and Lawrence, Kansas. CLO also runs Communiversity Day Activity Centers and Wellness Clinics in both sites. Additionally, CLO has pre-school settings serving kids with and without disabilities. ALL of these settings can use volunteers! Here are some commonly requested volunteer needs:
- HELPING WITH COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
- HELPING WITH SPECIAL HOME ACTIVITIES
- HELPING WITH CLO’s COMMUNIVERSITY CLASSES
- LEADING A SPECIAL PARTY
- COOKING A SPECIAL MEAL
- SPENDING ONE-ON-ONE TIME WITH A PERSON SERVED
- YARD-WORK
- CLEANING AND ORGANIZING
- LIGHT HOME MAINTENANCE
- CLEANING OF VEHICLES
- OFFICE PAPERWORK ASSISTANCE
- DATA SUMMARIZATION, GRAPHING & ARCHIVING
- LEADING OR HELPING WITH FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIES
- SEWING PROJECTS AND MINOR CLOTHING REPAIRS
