At CLO

CLO’s mission is to help adults and children with severe developmental disabilities achieve personally satisfying and fulfilling lifestyles.

CLO provides a variety of services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in homes scattered throughout the community in Overland Park and Lawrence, Kansas.  CLO also runs Communiversity Day Activity Centers and Wellness Clinics in both sites.  Additionally, CLO has pre-school settings serving kids with and without disabilities.  ALL of these settings can use volunteers!  Here are some commonly requested volunteer needs:

 

  • HELPING WITH COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES
  • HELPING WITH SPECIAL HOME ACTIVITIES
  • HELPING WITH CLO’s COMMUNIVERSITY CLASSES
  • LEADING A SPECIAL PARTY
  • COOKING A SPECIAL MEAL
  • SPENDING ONE-ON-ONE TIME WITH A PERSON SERVED
  • YARD-WORK
  • CLEANING AND ORGANIZING
  • LIGHT HOME MAINTENANCE
  • CLEANING OF VEHICLES
  • OFFICE PAPERWORK ASSISTANCE
  • DATA SUMMARIZATION, GRAPHING & ARCHIVING
  • LEADING OR HELPING WITH FUND-RAISING ACTIVITIES
  • SEWING PROJECTS AND MINOR CLOTHING REPAIRS
