CLO 2004 Employee Appreciation Picnic
Kansas's September weather was more than kind to CLO as teachers, families, teachers, administrators, and the men, women and children served by the agency gathered in sun-drenched "Kill-Creek Park" to celebrate our 12th annual employee appreciation picnic. The perfect weather contributed to a day of diverse activities, games, award presentations, and of course, a lot of irresistible food. The event, which has become an eagerly anticipated CLO tradition, took place on Saturday, the 18th of September and was organized meticulously by Micaela Ross Ward, Linda Miller and Katie Castle.
The picnic included moonwalks, volleyball contests, face painting, a variety of games and a professional clown, whose balloon creations were simply stunning and included anything from kangaroos to elaborate hats of all shapes and sizes. |
CLO employees and clients had a blast at the picnic!

Dr. Michael Strouse, Executive Director of CLO, and Lucky, with friends. |
The crowd was also quite entertained by “Lucky”, a horse owned by our executive director Michael Strouse. Surprisingly patient and calm, Lucky quickly proved to be a crowd favorite and a great photo-op for the kids and the men and women served by CLO.
Dr. Strouse presented “achievement of the year” awards to two of the most popular and established CLO individuals: Jim Duncan and Dennis Horn. Congratulations! |
CLO would like to thank the organizers Linda Miller, Micaela Ross Ward, and Katie Castle, as well as Chris Ostemeyer, who designed and developed the invitations for the event.
CLO would also like to thank Carly Castle and Jacey Lasher, who organized and regulated all the games and activities.
Finally, CLO would like to thank everyone who participated in making the day a fun one! |
